UK-born landscape and natural-history photographer based at Karekare on Auckland's wild west coast. Living in the Waitākere Ranges since 1981, Ted Scott has spent more than four decades photographing the landscapes, coastline and native wildlife of the region. His images appear in a series of bestselling New Zealand pictorial books, and his commercial studio, Fotofile Ltd, has supplied photography to leading organisations for over twenty years. Now semi-retired in Karekare, he devotes his time to photography, painting, printmaking and photographic restoration. The rugged west coast — his home — remains the central inspiration for both his photography and his paintings.
